What a great concept! Graduate from the ATI Commercial Driving School, drive for a trucking company for a few years, start your own business, then come back to the school and hire their graduates to work for you. That is exactly what John Shipp did!
John is originally from Illinois, but the Army brought him to Fort Story. After he left the military, one evening while watching TV he saw an ad for ATI’s Commercial Driving program.
John said, “The instructors at ATI were informative, and the schedule was good for me. I like the way the instructors break everything down and you have classroom study and plenty of road time.”
“The goal is,” John said, “to purchase more trucks, and continue to build the company, then I want to pass the company down to my son.”
And, to keep things in the family, John’s fiancée recently enrolled in the Commercial Driving program so that she can work alongside of John.
