In May the Pokomoke High School “Warriors” from Pokomoke, MD., drove three hours to visit the ATI campuses. Lead by Mr. Christopher Miles, a dozen students made the trip to visit ATI. The students were all specifically interested in technical careers and visited the HVAC, Automotive, Diesel-Heavy Vehicle and Welding programs. Mr. Miles, as well as the staff at Pokomoke firmly believes that technical education is a great alternative for some students. The chances of obtaining a well-paying career is possible through more than one path of education.
In early Spring, ATI welcomed 40 students from the Virginia Beach Tech Center. Welding students under the instruction of Joe Santos and HVAC students under the instruction of Dan Ramos, visited the HVAC school at Miller Store Road. Then visited welding, diesel and automotive at the main campus. Students spent the day visiting both campuses seeing demonstrations and speaking with instructors and asking questions about training in the careers they are considering. Students were impressed with the quality of the school.
